What Must Exist By The End Of This Block
- two to three genuinely different design ideas
- one evaluation criteria table
- one recorded evaluation result for each design
- one preferred design ready for detailed design work
Assessment Rubric
Do These Steps In Order
- Re-read the SRS so every design idea responds to the same requirements and constraints.
- Generate two to three genuinely different design ideas rather than small variations of one idea.
- Record the ideation work using tools such as mood boards, brainstorming, mind maps, sketches or annotated sketches.
- Write the evaluation criteria as questions and set them out clearly in a table.
- Evaluate each design idea against the same criteria and record the result.
- Select and justify the preferred design, then begin the detailed design package for that preferred option.
