Assessment window

Observation: Term 2 Week 5. Submission: Term 2 Week 6.

  • one recorded evaluation result for each design
  • one preferred design ready for detailed design work

Assessment Rubric

Do These Steps In Order

  1. Re-read the SRS so every design idea responds to the same requirements and constraints.
  2. Generate two to three genuinely different design ideas rather than small variations of one idea.
  3. Record the ideation work using tools such as mood boards, brainstorming, mind maps, sketches or annotated sketches.
  4. Write the evaluation criteria as questions and set them out clearly in a table.
  5. Evaluate each design idea against the same criteria and record the result.
  6. Select and justify the preferred design, then begin the detailed design package for that preferred option.
