SAT Roadmap

What This Section Is For

This SAT section is now organised as a weekly roadmap rather than a loose set of resources.

Work through the navigation in number order so it matches the Learning Program sequence for:

  • Unit 3 Outcome 2
  • Unit 4 Outcome 1

The SAT contributes 30 per cent to your study score for Software Development.

How To Use The Navigation

The sidebar is intentionally shallow.

Open the block you are currently working on, then use the links on that block page to reach:

  • the folio guidance pages
  • the relevant template
  • the checklist
  • the study-support pages

Roadmap Sequence

Step Weeks What you must get done
0 Start Here Before and during the SAT Understand the full roadmap, timeline, templates and checklists
1 Block 1 Term 1 Week 10 to Term 2 Week 1 Approve the idea, write the brief and build the proposed Gantt chart
2 Block 2 Term 2 Week 1 to Week 3 Collect evidence and build the analytical tools
3 Block 3 Term 2 Week 3 to Week 5 Write the software requirements specification
4 Block 4 Term 2 Week 5 to Week 6 Generate different design ideas and evaluate them
5 Block 5 Term 2 Week 6 to Week 7 Produce the detailed design package for the preferred design
6 Unit 4 From Term 2 Week 8 Build, test and evaluate the solution using the retained folio documents

What Stays Active The Whole Time

Your SAT needs to show your own progress from start to finish. Keep evidence as you go, especially:

  • notes and planning records
  • project plan updates and annotations
  • drafts of diagrams and designs
  • testing records
  • screenshots
  • user feedback

Three documents must stay editable because they carry forward into later work:

  • the Gantt chart
  • the evaluation criteria
  • the detailed design package

Quick Access Pages

These pages still exist, but they now sit behind the block dashboards instead of in the sidebar.

Best way to use this SAT section

Start with the block you are currently in, then use that page as the dashboard for everything you need that week.
